On the 7th of June 2020, YRA took to the streets to join more than 15,000 people at the anti-racism demonstration in Leipzig. Thousands of people demonstrated against racism in Leipzig. During the event, speakers declared racism an international problem which calls for an international solution. In the many speeches during the demonstration, speakers spoke in favour of freedom and justice for all. Migrants also shared their experiences of racism. The reason for the demonstration was also in solidarity with the “Black Lives Matter” movement to demand justice over the violent death of George Floyd an African American, who died on 25th May after a police operation in the US metropolis Minneapolis.
